How to use Incense sticks

Using incense sticks is relatively simple. Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Select an Incense Holder: Choose a suitable incense holder or burner to place the incense stick in. This holder should be stable and heat-resistant to catch any ash that may fall.

  2. Prepare the Area: Place the incense holder on a flat, non-flammable surface away from any flammable materials. Ensure there is enough space around the holder for air circulation.

  3. Light the Incense Stick: Hold the incense stick at the thicker, uncoated end. Use a lighter or match to ignite the coated end of the stick. Let the flame burn for a few seconds, then gently blow it out. The tip of the incense stick should glow red and emit smoke.

  4. Place in Holder: Carefully insert the unlit end of the incense stick into the holder, ensuring it stands upright and securely. If the incense stick comes with a wooden base, you may need to break or remove it before inserting it into the holder.

  5. Enjoy the Fragrance: Allow the incense stick to smolder and release its fragrance. Depending on the size of the stick, it may burn for 20 minutes to a few hours. You can adjust the intensity of the scent by blowing on the tip of the incense stick or by moving the holder closer or farther away from where you are seated.

  6. Extinguish Safely: Once you're done using the incense stick, extinguish it by gently tapping the glowing tip into a heat-proof surface, such as the incense holder itself or a bowl of sand. Make sure it is completely extinguished before leaving it unattended.

  7. Dispose of Ashes: Dispose of the ashes from the incense stick safely and responsibly. Wait until they have cooled down before discarding them in a trash bin or compost heap.

Remember to always use incense sticks in a well-ventilated area and to keep them away from children and pets. Additionally, be mindful of any fire hazards and never leave burning incense unattended.
